Cross Country Places Eighth at AAC Championships

The Brenau cross country team wrapped up the 2017 season with an eighth place finish at the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. on Saturday.

The squad posted a total team time of 1:54:28 and an average individual time of 22:53.61.

Individually, freshman Bianca Braz capped off her solid freshman season with a 31^st finish in 21:01.93. Sophomore Nia Griffin also posted a nice performance, clocking at time of 21:59.78 (50^th place), while Sydney Romine added a time of 22:52.99 (62^nd). Elizabeth Lowe (23:15.06/65^th), Giovanna Sifontes (25:18.25/82^nd) and Harley Stephens (25:47.56/85^th) rounded out the Golden Tigers finishers.

Milligan won the championship with a total team time of 1:34:03, while SCAD-Atlanta (1:34:47), Tennessee Wesleyan (1:41:11), Truett-McConnell (1:44:07) and host Reinhardt (1:45:10) round out the top five places.

Brenau graduates no seniors from the 2017 squad and looks ahead to an offseason of training in preparation for the 2018 season.
