Cross Country Runs at UNG Invitational
Oakwood, Georgia- The Brenau cross country team placed sixth at the UNG Invitational this past weekend.
"The team continues to improve," said head coach Byron Kramer. "All seven competitors had season bests in the meet."
The squad posted a total team time of 1:50.10 and an average team time of 22:02 in a highly competitive field of runners.
Freshman Kiyah Pittman again led the squad with a time of 20:57, while teammate Shannon Hoolahan finished only one second behind in 20:58 to capture 29th and 30th places respectively.
Junior Zoie Gardner also had a solid showing with a 35th place finish in 21:21 and senior Bianca Braz raced to a 46th place finish in 23:08.
Other Golden Tigers finishers include: freshman Brionna Bierkamp, who ran 23:45 (49th place), sophomore Keren Kapwadi, who ran 25:16 (57th place) and freshman Emily Martinez, who posted a time of 27:24 (58th place).
Anderson (SC) University topped all teams with an average team time of 18:48, while host University of North Georgia captured second with an average time of 18:59.
Individually, Columbus State's Alli Hay took top honors with a time of 18:09.
Brenau next competes at the Reinhardt Invitational in Canton, Ga. on October 30th.
