Cross Country Takes Eighth at UNG Invitational

Gainesville, Georgia- The Golden Tigers cross-country team placed eighth at the UNG Invitational on Friday.

In the 5K race, freshman Averie Akin paced the Golden Tigers with a time of 21:06 to place 36th overall, while fellow freshman Gladys Bianco placed 38th in a time of 21:19. Sophomore Jaeva Ridley ran 25:09  to place 61st. Freshman Alondra Rivera finished 63rd in a time of 25.24 and freshman Mikhailah Hayes added a time of 27:21 to place 65th.   

The squad ran a total time of 2:00:21 and had an average time of 24:04.

Catawba (NC) won the meet with an average time of 17:32, while Carson Newman (Tn.) and host UNG rounded out the top three team finishes. 

The Golden Tigers next race at the Asics Invite on September 30th.
