XC Places Seventh at GCSU Bobcat Invite
Milledgeville, Georgia- The Golden Tigers cross-country team placed seventh at the GCSU Bobcat Invite hosted by Georgia College and State University on Friday.
Junior Averie Akin had a stellar performance at the meet by placing third overall out of 130 runners. The Bethlehem, Ga. native ran a time of 19:39 to pace all NAIA runners in the meet.
Freshman De'Nya Reynolds continued her strong start to the season with a 43rd place finish in 21:54, while junior Victoria Woods ran 21:55 to take 44th place.
Other Golden Tiger finishers include freshman Paula Batterman (23:11/67th place), senior Ellie Kinlaw (23:38/73rd place), freshman Kendall Goetzman (23:39/74th place), junior Leslie Cabrera (25:33/92nd place), and junior Gladys Blanco Choque (26:05/94th place).
The Golden Tigers placed 7th overall out of 15 teams, and second among NAIA programs. NCAA DII Augusta (Ga.) University took top team honors, whileNCAA D1 Georgia Southern placed second.
