Cross Country Races at Georgia Tech XC 6K
Fairburn, Georgia- The Golden Tigers cross-country continued its 2025 slate with a trip to the Georgia Tech XC Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech on Friday.
The team placed eleventh overall in a deep and talented field, finishing with an overall time of 2:05.28 and an average runner time of 25:05 in the 6K event.
Junior Averie Akin led the team with a time of 22:56 for an overall 33rd place, and fellow junior Victoria Woods placed 86th overall in a time of 25:01.
A pair of freshmen finished back-to-back as Kendall Goetzman and De'Nya Reynolds ran 25:53 (101st place) and 26:01 (102nd place), respectively.
Junior Gladys Blanco Choque added a 115th-place finish in 27:56, and junior Leslie Cabrera placed 121st in 29:32.
The Golden Tigers were the only NAIA school to compete in the field, as host Georgia Tech earned top team honors. Fellow NCAA D1 Mercer (Ga.) University earned 2nd place, while Chattanooga (Tenn.) placed third.
