Softball Sweeps Bluefield; Looks Ahead to 2025 AAC Softball Tourney

Bluefield, Virginia-The Brenau softball team closed out the regular season with a sweep of Bluefield (Va.) University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) doubleheader on Friday.
In game one, sophomore Ava Moon swatted her second home run of the year, and fellow sophomore Callie Dale hit a clutch 3-RBI single to help lead the Golden Tigers to a 7-6 win.
Moon went 2-2 and a stolen base, while Dale drove in three runs in the top of the sixth inning to help solidify the win.
Freshman hurler Emily Hall pitched a complete game and struck out five batters for her 12th win.
In game two, Dale continued her strong day and sophomore Allie McGee each hit home runs to propel the squad to a 6-5 victory to earn the sweep.
Moon also continued her strong day with two hits, an RBI and a stolen base. For the week, the Watkinsville, Ga. native hit .563, posted a .650 obp and slugged .938 with 15 total bases and 5 steals.
Freshman Malorie Watson earned her 10th win of the season on the mound, while freshman Cheyenne Coleman closed the door on the Rams (12-28 overall, 3-23 AAC) with the save.
Brenau (29-14 overall, 18-10 AAC) sits in seventh place going into the postseason. The Golden Tigers now await seeding for the 2025 AAC Softball Championships from April 28th -May 2nd at Brickyard Ball Fields in Kingsport, Tennessee.
