Dayton, Tennessee.- The Brenau soccer team scored two goals in each half to rout Bryan (Tenn.) College 4-0 to earn the squad's first AAC victory on Wednesday.
Brenau's Abigail Menjivar started her strong performance late in the first half as the junior took a pass from freshman Emily Tamayo to beat Bryan keeper Ava Hooks for the opening goal of the match. Freshman Lily Scott continued the team's momentum as she scored her first collegiate goal off a Ryalie Acker assist to increase the team's lead to 2-0 going into intermission. Tamayo leads the Golden Tigers with three assists, while Acker tallied her first two assists of the season.
The Golden Tigers added to the lead in the 56th minute as sophomore Madison Kitson found freshman Keleigh Robinson, who notched her first career goal for a commanding 3-0 lead. Menjivar then topped off her day with her second goal of the match as Acker again assisted to close out the match with a decisive 4-0 victory.
Keeper Zyara Gonzalez-Galeano led a strong defensive performance as Brenau allowed no shots on goal and outshot the host Lions 14-1.
