Barbourville, Kentucky- The Brenau soccer team closed out the 2025 regular season with a 2-1 victory over Union Commonwealth (Ky.) in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match on Saturday.
The Golden Tigers stormed out to an early lead as sophomore forward Madison Kitson scored unassisted in the 5th minute by beating Union keeper Chiara Isanto for a very early 1-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs (3-14 overall, 3-10 AAC) answered in the 37th minute when Olivia Bartlett scored the equalizer to even the score at 1-1.
At the 55:18 mark, Brenau broke open the match as senior Haley Wilton found junior Abigail Menjivar for the game-winner.
Keeper Zyara Gonzalez-Galeano notched eight saves to earn the win.
Brenau (8-7-1 overall, 6-6-1 AAC) now awaits seeding for the 2025 AAC Soccer Championships.
